The Board of County Commissioners, Union County, Ohio will consider the Petition for Regular Annexation to the City of Dublin, Ohio, of 72.1 Acres, more or less, from Jerome Township, Union County on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 beginning at 9:00 a.m. The hearing will be held in the Commissioners Hearing Room, in the County Office Building at 233 West Sixth Street, 1st Floor, Marysville, Ohio.
Notice of Annexation Withdraw
The Board of County Commissioners, Union County, Ohio have accepted the WITHDRAW of Petition for Regular Annexation to the City of Dublin, Ohio, of 116.1 Acres, more or less, from Jerome Township, Union County.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Union County intends to apply to the Ohio Development Services Agency for funding under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Small Cities Program, HOME Investment Partnership Program and other related federally-funded programs administered by the State. The County is eligible for several different types of program year 2017 programs providing the County meets applicable program requirements. These programs include but are not limited to: Residential Public Infrastructure Program, Economic Development Program, Critical Infrastructure and Community Housing Impact and Preservation Program (CHIP).
Ohio will have an estimated $69 million to distribute statewide. Union County may be eligible to apply for $300,000 in Critical Infrastructure, $600,000 for Residential Public Infrastructure, $500,000 for Economic Development Programs and $850,000 in CHIP Housing funds. CHIP grants are due to the State May 5, 2017 and the other grants are open cycle grants.
The first of multiple public hearings will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at the Union County Commissioners Office, County Office Building, 233 W. Sixth Street, Marysville, OH 43040 to provide citizens with pertinent information about the CDBG, HOME and related programs, including an explanation of eligible activities including, but not limited to: handicapped access improvements, economic development projects, street, water, drainage and sanitary sewer improvements, park improvements, demolition, rehabilitation of public facilities and rehabilitation of housing and neighborhood facilities. The activities must be designed to primarily benefit low-to-moderate income persons or aid in the elimination of slums and blight.
Citizens and organizations are encouraged to attend this meeting in order to obtain additional information about the available grant programs. Community Development Implementation Strategy (CDIS) representatives including all villages, City of Marysville and other stakeholders are encouraged to attend.
The Commissioners may also take up and act upon matters that have not yet been brought to the attention of the Commissioners or the Clerk at the time of the preparation of this agenda.
