MARCH 26, 2020 UPDATEWe have images and indexes online from 1995 to current. I recently added: deed indexes grantor and grantee from 1955 to 1994, mortgage indexes grantor 1955 to 1994, and miscellaneous indexes grantor and grantee from 1960 to 1994. Our office falls under the “by other means” criteria which states “it is each office’s discretion as to how make your records available and accessible. Our office is the official land records office for all real estate located in Union County.  We keep accurate land records that are current, legible and easily accessible.  An important aspect of the Recorder's work is to index each document so it may be readily located.  Accurate indexing makes it possible for persons searching land records to find the documents necessary to establish a "chain of title" (history of ownership) and ensures that any debts or encumbrances against the property are evident.  These invaluable records are utilized by the general public, attorneys, historians, genealogists, and land title examiners.
